Building a Wrist Stack: Tennis, Bangles, and Charms

How to combine a line bracelet, a bangle, and a charm piece without the wrist looking crowded.

A wrist stack is the easiest stack to get wrong, because the wrist moves and everything on it shifts and clinks. The fix is contrast in form: one bracelet that flexes, one that holds its shape, and one that adds a motif. Three different jobs, one clean line down the arm.

Start With the Line

A diamond line bracelet is the backbone of any wrist stack. The 14KT Yellow Gold Diamond Bracelet here is the piece that does the heavy lifting — continuous sparkle, fluid drape, the kind of bracelet that works alone or as the base of everything else. If you only ever own one bracelet, it should be this kind.

Add Structure

A bangle gives the stack a counterpoint. Where the line bracelet flows, the Beaded Shank Hamsa Diamond Bangle in yellow gold sits firm and holds its position on the wrist. That tension between movement and structure is what keeps a stack from reading like one undifferentiated mass of gold.

Finish With a Motif

The last piece should bring personality. The Butterfly Design Diamond Bracelet in rose gold does that — a shape with meaning and a third metal tone that warms the whole arrangement. A motif piece is what turns a stack into yours instead of a formula.

Balance the Weight

Keep the heaviest piece closest to the hand so the stack tapers up the arm, leave a little room between pieces so they are not constantly knocking, and stop at three unless you have the wrist for more. Every bracelet shown below is in stock now and ships fully insured — or get stacked and sized in person by appointment in LA.
